Anambra NLC Calls on Buhari to Relocate Boko Haram Suspects

The Nigeria Labour Congress, Anambra State chapter, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to order the immediate relocation of the Boko Haram suspects recently transferred to Ekwulobia prisons in the state. Chairman of the union, Mr Jerry Nnubia made the call on Tuesday at a press briefing, held at the union secretariat, Awka.
“We condemn in its entirety the action of the federal government for relocating the suspected terrorists to Ekwulobia minimum prison that has no facility for such high profile suspects. This is a period in Anambra state where we are breathing the breath of peace and security, courtesy of Governor Willie Obiano” Nnubia said.

He added: “They should be transferred or relocated to other place where they committed the crime and where they would be tried. This will stop the tension in Anambra state and indeed the south east geopolitical zone”.

Nnubia further said, “we do not know if it is a grand design by the federal government or whoever may have contemplated the idea to infest us with this Boko Haram problem.”

He described the federal government action as irrational and suggested that the suspects should be relocated to the northern part of the country where they have been carrying out their dastardly act.
