Carlo Ancelotti dashes Arsenal, Man Utd and Liverpool hopes of signing Asier Illarramendi

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has dealt a blow to a host of top Premier League clubs eyeing a move for midfielder Asier Illarramendi.
According to the Daily Star, several clubs in England have been weighing up a move for the 24-year-old midfielder, who has found first team football hard to come by at the Bernabeu.
Now, however, Carlo Ancelotti has closed the door on any potential move for the Spaniard, insisting he is an important part of the club’s plans going forward.
Why Liverpool should look to Real Madrid to strengthen their midfield before Gerrard departure
The Daily Star quote Ancelotti as saying: “He is a player of Real Madrid and though it’s true he hasn’t played much, we still have confidence in him.

“He’s important in the locker room.”
The Daily Star also claim the player himself is also quoted, seemingly declaring his happiness at Madrid. He said: “Today, the club has not said anything about my departure.

“I want to stay at Real Madrid. I’m very happy at this club and in this city. I’m only looking towards this Saturday’s game.”

With midfield stars such as Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, Sami Khedira, Isco and James Rodriguez all vying for a starting berth, it’s little wonder that players — even ones as gifted Illarramendi — are struggling for game time.

Since making the £23million switch from Real Sociedad to Madrid in 2013, the defensive midfielder has played 70 times and chipped in with three goals. Now, however, he is finding first team opportunities harder to come by.

The Daily Star reports that Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal were all interested in the midfielder, though a deal now looks unlikely.
Illarramendi has made 12 appearances this season in La Liga
