CHAPTER ONE
INTRODUCTION
1.1 Background of the Study
Employee
information management system is software for managing data of employee in a
company or organization. Employee information management system comprises the
personnel details of an employee, keeps the record of employee appointment
date, retired/sacked date, payroll management and also record the activities of
staff in an organization. Without an employee management system, it is a
difficult for human resource management of any company or organization to
manage employee details. The system is developed to provide the information of
the employee and many other facilities
The
employee information management system is also a component covering many other
aspect from application to retirement
(Condrey 1998), the system record basic demographic and address data,
selection, training and development capabilities and skill management,
compensation planning records and other related activities.
1.2 Statement of the problem
Due
to the difficulty in accessing, planning, processing and keeping records in an
organization, it becomes extremely tedious due to the following problems:
1. accessing an employee file in the mist of
many files require extra manual effort and time consuming.

.Inaccurate information about the employee.
4. Lack of managing staff payment or payroll
functionality.
5.
Using wrong employee details in another employee’s place is often observed.
1.3 Objective of the study
The
objective of this study is to design and develop an automated Employee
Information Management System that meets the following needs:
1. Development
and deployment of software that dynamically update the employee records.
2. Create Database to store employee records
