Sambo reconciles Yobe PDP factions in Kaduna

Vice President Namadi Sambo in Kaduna on Tuesday reconciled members of the Peoples Democratic Party from Yobe State, following the fallout of the party’s primaries, which created factions in the state.

At the late General Usman Katsina House, Kawo, Kaduna, were the party’s leaders from the state and Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Abdul Bulama; former Minister of Police Affairs and governorship candidate in Yobe State, Dr. Adamu Waziri; senatorial and House of Representatives candidates, State House of Assembly candidates as well as other major stakeholders of the party from the state.

During the meeting, which also had in attendance the Kaduna State Governor, Mukhtar Yero, the Vice President told the party members that the PDP-led government would carry along those, who won or lost the primaries in the state. While urging members to focus on the 2015 general elections so as to give the party a resounding victory, he insisted there was no cause for members to panic, as those who lost would be giving responsibilities or positions.

The Vice President then congratulated the Yobe State PDP members for agreeing to put aside rancour and bitterness that attended the last party primaries and agreeing to work for the success of the party in the state.

Sambo said,“You have set a good example for others to follow rather than engage in anti-party activities or defecting. You heeded my call where we can sort out the differences and agree on a common ground with a promise to work for the success of PDP, not only in Yobe State but in the entire North-East region. This is highly commendable and encouraging.
“With this step you have taken, I want to assure you that all the aspirants in this great party will be given responsibilities, but the

first thing must be done, and that is you must ensure victory for the party at the polls by working as a team.”
